We are the data controller for the information described here. We are based in Ireland, so the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Acts apply.
Who controls your data
Accessibility Radar, the trading name of a sole trader registered in Ireland and operating from Ireland, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at Contact@accessibilityradar.com. This notice took effect on 20 September 2026.
What we collect
The website addresses you ask us to scan and the technical results of those scans; the email address you give us to receive results, reports or monitoring alerts; account details if you create one (email, name, password held only as a secure hash, and sign-in details if you use Google); billing details such as your name, billing country, VAT status and invoice history; and basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view on our site, which we use to keep the service secure and to prevent abuse of free scans. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 16, and the service is not aimed at children.
Why we use it and our legal basis
To run the scan you requested and show the result, to deliver the reports and monthly monitoring you paid for, and to manage your account and support requests — all necessary to perform our contract with you. To take payment, keep tax records and meet our accounting obligations — legal obligation. To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and improve how our checks work — our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable service. To send occasional guidance about accessibility law and product news — consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email. We do not make decisions with legal effects about you by automated means, and we do not profile you for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors under written data processing agreements: our hosting, database and email-sign-in provider; our payment provider, which handles card details directly so they never reach our servers; our email delivery provider; and the AI provider that turns technical findings into plain-language explanations. Only the technical snippet concerned is sent for explanation, and it is not used to train models. We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We never sell your data.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in the European Union wherever possible. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, together with technical safeguards such as encryption in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
Scan results and reports are kept for 24 months so you can see progress over time, or deleted sooner if you ask. Account data is kept while your account is open and for 30 days after you close it. Billing and tax records are kept for six years, as Irish law requires. Email addresses captured from a free scan are kept for 12 months if you do not go on to buy. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent and for two years afterwards as proof.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking, so no cookie consent banner is needed. Any statistics we keep about site usage are aggregated and cannot identify you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Email Contact@accessibilityradar.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, dataprotection.ie, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
